We would love all children to be in school at 8.40am when their classroom doors open.  ‘Early work’ is always available to provide a calm and purposeful start to the day. 

Registers close at 8.55am, and a child who arrives after that time is late for school.

Make sure your child is in school on time, ideally at 8.40am! 

Arriving late (after 8.55am) means that your child misses important information about their learning, and disrupts the education of other children too.

If your child is unwell please call the school office before 9am to inform us that your child will not be attending school. You should call every day of absence.

If your child has sickness and/or diarrhoea please remember that he/she should not return to school until 48 hours after the last bout.

Parents can arrange to come into school to administer medication to their own children if necessary. Only medicines prescribed by a doctor can be administered by the school.  Antibiotic doses that are administered 3 times a day should be given before and after school and at bedtime. If the medicine is required 4 times a day please ask in the office for staff to give any additional required dose.  Parents are asked to complete and sign a medication request form. Children with asthma, severe allergies, etc keep their medication in the school; these are given by a First Aid trained member of staff. It is a parents responsibility to keep a check on expiry dates of any medication held in school.

Unfortunately, sometimes children do have accidents or become unwell whilst they are at school and we need to call you.  It can add to your child’s distress if we are unable to contact you.  Please ensure that we have up to date contact telephone numbers for you. You must inform the office immediately if your contact details change.

No!  Absence due to holidays in term time is unauthorised and may result in a penalty notice and a fine.

Remember that there are already 13 weeks (one quarter of the year) of school holiday time.  As far as reasonably possible, all absences (and definitely all holidays) should not take place during school time.

We welcome parents and carers in school.  If you would like to help, please let us know.

For safety reasons children should not wear any jewellery in school.  However, they may wear a wrist watch and if your child has pierced ears, small studs may be worn. These will need to be removed or covered for PE lessons and if your child goes swimming.

Children should not bring toys, sweets, valuables or money, mobile phones, iPads, iPods etc into school.  We cannot be responsible for children’s property.

No snacks should contact nuts as we are a NUT FREE school.

We have specialist staff members available to help children in their acquisition of English as an additional language.
