New Valley Attainment and Progress 2021-22

Towards the end of each school year, children in Year 6 at primary schools throughout the country are assessed on their attainment in the core areas of reading, writing and mathematics.  Children take tests (known as SATs – statutory assessment tests) in reading and maths, and are assessed by their teachers in writing.

Because of the disruption caused by COVID-19 SATs did not take place in 2020 and 2021, and the government will not be publishing the 2022 results, but we are pleased to be able to share our KS2 results for 2022, compared to the national averages:

 

Proportions of children achieving expected level or better in Y6 in 2022:

Reading, Writing & Mathematics combined  -  64%  (compared with national 59%)

Reading  -  75%  (national 74%)

Writing - 68% (national 69%)

Mathematics - 79% (national 71%)

 

Progress Scores (measuring children's progress from Year 2 to Year 6:

Reading    -0.27 (national 0.04)

Writing  +0.18 (national 0.05)

Mathematics  +1.02 (national 0.04)
