Towards the end of each school year, children in Year 6 at primary schools throughout the country are assessed on their attainment in the core areas of reading, writing and mathematics. Children take tests (known as SATs – statutory assessment tests) in reading and maths, and are assessed by their teachers in writing.
We are pleased to share our KS2 results for 2023, and proud that New Valley children achieved better than the national average in all core areas:
Proportions of children achieving the expected standard or better in Y6 in 2023:
Reading, Writing & Mathematics combined 68% (compared with national 60%)
Reading 86% (national 73%)
Writing 75% (national 71%)
Mathematics 86% (national 73%)
